This is such a good answer to the hell question, as I posted at Yahoo. I wish to show it here also:
The ones who do not believe in hell, have no idea what they are talking about. Those who say Scripture does not teach this, have no idea. In the grave people do not open their eyes, and talk and remember, as Scripture shows those in hell do.
But, the ones who do believe in it, do not have any idea what God teaches about this, so they do turn many away from truth.
God has never said anyone will burn eternally. This is a false teaching.
The truth is that every person who has ever lived, will be either rewarded or punished for the things he did in this life. Scripture is very clear on this. No need for all the false teachings.
If the truth were really known, I think it would make a lot of difference in how everyone lives their lives, even those who deceive themselves into thinking the BELIEVE. They do not believe, for they then deny the God-given power, to do the same miracles that Jesus did...IF YOU BELIEVE.
But those who live their lives carelessly and commit sins and evil will receive the deeds they have done WHETHER IT IS GOOD OR EVIL.
Everyone will receive the just reward for their own doings.
So
if you go around hurting folks, stealing and killing, then you will receive greater punishment than those who did not do these evil things.
God is a just God. He will meet out rewards or punishments, ACCORDING TO WHAT YOU DID IN YOUR BODY. make no mistake about this,...you yourself bring on your own self, the punishment that you will receive.
Those who claim christianity, but still live in sin, will also receive their just punishment. and even more, for crucifying again Jesus, and putting his to open shame.
read Hebrews. It is very clear on this matter. There is a hell, and you will go there, unless you truly were baptized into the body of christ, as in Acts 2. How many church flat deny this!!! They are sending you to hell for your listening to
