If Jesus is the reason for ANYTHING we do, then HE had to have told us; His apostles had to have taught it also. So, let's see what Jesus told us to do in remembrance of him:
Luke 22: 19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Here we find that Jesus told his disciples to take the wine and bread in remembrance of him.
Paul mentions this:
1Cor 11: 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Paul said he received this from Jesus. He said as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye do shew the LORD'S DEATH, till he come.
So we are told to remember the Lord's DEATH.
concerning the resurrection:
Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Concerning his birth: ... Job 3: 3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
Jer 20: 14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
Now someone
show me where Jesus said, or the Word said, remember the day of the birth of Jesus, or celebrate it.
remember his death; his resurrection; but cursed by the day of his birth. to be chosen rather, the day of one's death.
seems no one has one tiny bit of Scripture to keep up your holidays; celebrating in such ungodly manner, what you call his birthday; and his resurrection.
easter bunnies; egg hunts; such EVIL IN THE NAME OF THE HOLY LORD.
Yet you all wish to get away from such negetive stuff. when you miss eternal life, and Jesus says, depart from me, I never knew you, then you will see the ways of man is eternal death.
