I am trying
to keep from crying
because you keep lying
while I am sighing
and hope not to be dying
from all you keep trying
to lead me into
and make me do.
Since we are so few
there is little hope
that enough will be woke
and not swallow your dope.
Give us enough rope
and we will send it down a slope.
Is there any who can hear my cry
and help us not die
but stop all they try
to send us to the by and by?
We are in a war for the souls of men
but the enemy keeps trying to spin
a spider's web with a sly grin
and make you all listen to him again.
Oh my people! Open up your ears
As I have told you all these years
do not listen to your peers
they will bring on all your fears.
There is one up on high
who said we can live and not die.
But you must come his way
or there will be no life today.
Study the Word of God
Walk the road the Apostles trod
If you want to go through the pearly gate
You must obey and not be late.
