I didn’t come here to try
To sit and chat or need a reply.
I don’t want you to cry
But I came to say goodby.
It is not that I wish to go
And I know you hope it is not so.
I don’t want to make you sad
In fact I hope it makes you glad.
But My God has called me to come home
And I am longing to see the glory that he has shown
To me in the many years we have walked
And I have listened as he talked
Of all the joy and unspeakable beauty unfold
That awaits all who have love untold
A world where there is no sorrow
And I will behold it tomorrow.
It is with gladness that I will this world depart
I have longed for many years within my heart
To finally behold HIS Majesty
And tomorrow it will become a reality.
So rejoice with me as my soul ascends on high
It will be a thrill that I cannot deny.
God has an abundant supply
of grace that will take you to that home in the sky.
Listen, and you will hear that glorious call
That was written down by Paul.
This call goes to one and all
None are too small.
Look up at the beautiful stars tonight
And you will know that I have taken that great flight.
I have set my sights above
Where He waits for me with his great love.
To all that I will leave behind
I wish to speak and remind
You to study God’s word and not be blind
And you will find this same kind
Of faith that will take you into the Father’s presence
And you shall know then the glorious essence
Of perfect righteousness, holiness and bliss
That no one should miss.
So as I make my final visit
Let me speak to you in the Spirit
Rejoice with me and laugh
For truly we have not heard the half.
Tomorrow I shall behold his glory
And I will know the whole story
That I have believed my entire life
And I shall then be his royal wife.
