~~ Schoolmaster, under Grace? ~~
Most people think that we are still under the law. These people quote that the law is our schoolmaster, to bring us to Christ. But is this true for the NT Covenant? Let’s just examine this a bit closer and see for sure.
Ga 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
Ga 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: [Notice, this said, WHEN WE WERE IN BONDAGE. This means while they were under that law. That is when they were children, that is when they were in bondage, that is when they were ‘in school’. That is when they were children. But when I became a man, I put away ‘childish, (law’ ) things.]
Ga 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, [See that this fully explains that it is now speaking about the time when God sent forth his Son. This makes it very clear that it is speaking about the first coming of Jesus, not the second. He is not made under the law, at his second return.]
Ga 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. [He came for a purpose. …To redeem those who were under the law, so that those might receive the adoption of sons. Now they are no longer a servant, but a son. Now they are no longer in need of a schoolmaster, or law. Now they have been given the Spirit of his Son into their hearts. Now they are led of the Spirit. If ye be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law. So this clearly reveals that it was only those people before Christ came, that needed a schoolmaster. Those of us born in the Grace age, are given his Spirit to lead us to Christ. We do not have or need a schoolmaster. It is time people start reading the Scripture and accepting what it says, instead of blinding following the lies of man. Grace people HAVE NO NEED OF A SCHOOLMASTER, never had a need of a schoolmaster, the law.]
Ga 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. [We who are in Grace, are no more a servant, but a son. We were not born under the law, so we had no need of a schoolmaster to start with. If you had a schoolmaster, the law, then you are not in grace. This is very clearly speaking about people before Christ came to earth.]
Ga 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? [Here God asks, how can you who have come to know God, through Grace, or His Spirit, how can you turn again back to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire AGAIN TO BE IN BONDGAE? So this clearly reveals that these weak and beggarly elements means THINGS UNDER THAT LAW. That is the bondage. It does NOT MEAN that people, since Christ, just first start out under law, or the schoolmaster, then come to Christ, through the law, and then still live under the law, but knowing Christ. It is not that way. We no longer need a schoolmaster, means no one has needed a schoolmaster, the law, since Christ came to redeem them from the law.
How turn you again to these weak and beggarly elements? How? You are denying the Spirit of Christ in doing so. In teaching others that they need a schoolmaster to come to know Christ, is denying the work of the Holy Ghost. It is blasphemy against the Working of God and Christ. It is deception and dangerous to ones soul.]
Ga 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. [Is Paul only speaking to those who already have the Holy Ghost? NO. He is speaking to everyone this side of Calvary. Stand fast in freedom or liberty, which comes with being made free by Jesus. Do not go back again to that yoke of bondage, of law, for Jesus broke every yoke and set mankind free. We are free to find Jesus through Grace, not a schoolmaster. The Holy Ghost was given to LEAD MEN TO CHIRST. He will LEAD YOU AND GUIDE you into all truth. He. The Holy Ghost, not law. Do not allow these deceivers to take away your liberty in Christ, and bring you back under that bondage again.]
Ga 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. [If you seek justification by law, you fall from Grace. If you fall from Grace, there will be no salvation for you, for salvation did not come through any law.]
Ga 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. [See, we are waiting for the hope of righteousness by faith, THROUGH THE SPIRIT, NOT A SCHOOLMASTER. If we are waiting for it, hoping for it, it has not come yet. So it is speaking to those who have yet to be filled with the Holy Ghost. They are not waiting under any schoolmaster. They are waiting through the SPIRIT. You who teach the law, are denying the Spirit.]
The entire book of Galatians is about the difference in law and grace. So how can anyone read it and come up with the foolish notion that people, since Christ, must still be under law, to get to Christ? It is clearly teaching the opposite.
Ga 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you. [Who was troubling them? Those who claimed they still needed that schoolmaster. So Paul, or God, said, I would they were CUT OFF. People , cut off those who are hindering you and troubling you by saying you, in this Grace age, still need a schoolmaster to lead you to Christ. It is lies of Satan. This entire book shows it is a lie and of the devil to teach such false doctrine.]
Ga 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. [If ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. So all who claim that they are still under the law, and that we still need to be under the law, are NOT BEING LED OF THE SPIRIT. They are still under the weak and beggarly elements of that law, and will never find Christ, so long as they continue to live by that law.]
Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Ro 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [Here, we have another witness, saying that those who are led of the Spirit, (not law), are the sons of God. It says again, that we have not received the spirit of bondage again. This is clearly speaking of that law. It is the bondage. We have not been given that spirit of fear, (law), again. We have received the Spirit of adoption. So it clearly is saying the same thing as in the above Scripture from Galatians. Will you call both of these scriptures a lie, to hold to your bondage of law? How long, oh you people, will you accept these false teachers and their lies? How long will you continue to blaspheme the Spirit of the Holy Ghost? How long will you cling to these lies, that you need a schoolmaster and must still be in bondage to that law? Come and be set FREE. Jesus died to set you FREE, NOT TO BRING YOU AGAIN INTO BONDAGE. Ye observe days, (Sabbaths)] Ga 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Paul says that his labour was in vain upon those who turned again to these weak and beggarly elements of observing days, months and times and years. It is all those old Jewish feasts and Sabbaths. Ye are NOT under those things, if you are in Grace. If his work on them was in vain, then it is because they are LOST AND NOT SONS OF GOD. So his labour to bring them to Christ has FAILED. He must now travail in birth again to try to bring them to Christ.
