~~ Song of Solomon ~~
Carnal minded men have made havoc of this wonderful Book as they have all of God’s Holy Word. But I truly think they are showing their full carnal minds when they attempt to explain this Book. If you try to understand this Book according to human flesh and human relationships, you will end up in total carnality and calling God’s word a lie. This Book has not one thing to do with human relationships. It is totally spiritual and a beautiful revelation.
Chapter one: (I do not know that I will quote every verse, for that would make this message much too long. But I will do a good bit of quoting. If a person has the right interpretation of any Scripture, it must be able to explain every single word of it, not just a few. Those who try to teach SOS in carnality, only take in a few verses for the main portion of this Book could never fit their carnal ideas. This is one way you know they did not receive a revelation of truth from God. It is just their own carnal minds at work.
p.s. Well, I did use every verse. I don‘t think I have ever used an entire Book in a message before, but did not see how to do this and leave any of it out.)
1 The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. 3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee. 4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee. 5 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. 6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
In Scripture Jesus is called by many names other than his own name. Sometimes he is called David, Joshua, Zerubbabel and others. The reason for this is that these men, in these passages are really showing Jesus in prophecy. So here Solomon is really Jesus. If you read this Book and think it is about the earthly Solomon, you will totally miss the true meaning of this precious book.
In Scripture a kiss sometimes shows worship. Kiss the Son lest he be angry with you. Here it is speaking of Jesus blessing his people with the words of his mouth. This is his Love which is better than wine. In this Book the Bride of Christ and Jesus are speaking back and forth with each other. It is His dealings with his people, first in the OT Law covenant, and then with those who came over into the NT Grace Covenant. Sometimes she is speaking from that old Covenant and then from the New Covenant. It is God’s dealings with his people from both covenants.
Notice it begins with proclaiming the greatness of his NAME. His NAME is as ointment poured forth. Virgins show those who are not mixed up in sin, but trying to live for God, both in the old covenant and in the New. His Name is a strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and is safe. Without a pure faith in this name, one will never grow up in Christ and be able to obtain the gifts of the Spirit or any other true blessing. We must come in by the use of this NAME OF JESUS.
V4-- We must be drawn to God by his spirit. But when he does draw us, then we must ‘run’ after him. We must seek the Lord with all our hearts, in order to find him. Bringing her into his chambers is showing when He gave her the Holy Ghost so she could now fellowship with him. His Holy Love is the focus of this Book. We only come to know this holy love by the operation of the Holy Ghost in our lives. So this is the focus of this Book.
When He fills us with the Holy Ghost, we will always remember this above all other experiences, for it is the greatest of all experiences and joy.
So here we see the beginning of this love relationship between the bride and the groom, Jesus. But in verse 5, it goes back to before she is brought into his love. It will move back and forth between when she was in the old law covenant, trying to find her lover, to when she is finally brought into his love, the grace covenant. Here she says I am black. Now it is not referring to a human-black woman. Remember this is not about human relationships.
Then why is she black? It is shows the contrast between being RIGHTEOUS and unrighteous. It is the difference in being in law or in grace. Notice in verse 6, she says my mother’s children were angry with me. Her mother here was that law covenant. At the time here she is still under that old law. So then she begins leaning toward the Grace ministers, that true Church and this causes her mother’s children, (those clinging to law) to become angry with her. They then go about to destroy her. They made her keep those old vineyards but she was not able then to keep her own, which was Grace.
7 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? 8 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.
Remember that Rachel brought her fathers flock to the well at noon and Jacob watered them? This is showing that Jesus feeds us without turning us away to wait for others to come. Here the bride (still under that law covenant, yet seeking him), asks him where he feeds and makes his flock to rest at noon. Then she says why should I need to turn aside by the flocks of others? Remember how Boaz told Ruth not to go to any other field, but to gleam only in his? This is showing that Jesus wants us to only feed on His pure word and his Spirit. Do not go running around after all these other books and doctrines. Stay with the truth. Here she shows that she truly wants to find his Truth.
V8-- He then tells her that if she does not know where he feeds from to go and feed her KIDS beside the shepherds’ tents. So what is this? Kids are young GOATS. The goats are on the left side and rejected at judgment, for they are those under LAW. So he is showing that unless you learn to feed on grace truth, you will just keep on feeding on goat food by those other shepherds of the OT.
In the next few verses they are complementing each other. It shows spiritual things. The sweet smelling spices show the glorious blessings which come under the grace covenant. He is describing here how he will bring her into glorification. It is really speaking about the New Jerusalem. She is the mother of all living. It is the city or kingdom of Christ. Their bed being green shows that it is full of life. Beams of cedar show glorification. The Cedars in Lebanon were the glorified Cherubs or those people before they fell and were placed into a body of dust. So here Christ is revealing how he will glorify his people with salvation.
Chapter two:
1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. 2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. 4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. 5 Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. 6 His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me. 7 I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
The thorns in Scripture means that old law. It bruises and hurts. It is the pricking briar. So the lily is a sweet flower. She is as a lovely flower out there among that old law group. She then says he is as an apple tree. This is showing the sweetness of his Holy Fruit. Under the shadow of this wonderful ‘tree’, (Jesus; grace), she sat down…to rest. He gives us rest. Before, they were all under the shadow of that old evil tree, Adam; law. Eze 28.
After she came to rest under his shadow or protection, then his fruit was sweet to her taste. Oh taste and see that the Lord is good. She shows that she was sick of love. This is those who hunger and thirst after his righteousness. They shall be filled. Awake shows resurrection, so she is saying not to try to bring forth this resurrection before the time.
8 The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. 9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. 10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. 11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; 12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; 13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
In verse eight she hears his voice calling to her. He comes to the mountains or nations with his message of grace. The wall shows that old law. He stood behind that old law-wall and would not go over into it. He looked at her through those windows and showed himself to her, through the preaching of those Apostles. She begins to hear of this new and great move of God which is beyond those walls of law. Her interest is stirred.
He now calls her to come out to him…leave thy father and mother…law…and come into Grace. That old cold time, law, is past. Flowers or beauty is now available to all who will come and drink from my living water. She begins to hear this message and is drawn to it. But she is still held back by that law system which she has been accustomed to. But he calls to her and lets her know it is now time to come into true life, bear children to God. I am the vine. Come to me and eat/drink the holy flesh/drink. Arise, awake, come into righteousness. Come away with me into grace and eternal life. She hears this call and is brought to his love.
The fig tree is putting forth as Jesus said it would. It is now time for summer, or the grace age to begin. The vines bear their tender grapes. It is truth coming forth to rescue her from that old law. Glory to God!
14 O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. 16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. 17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
Now she begins to understand a bit about grace, the secret place of God. Then she desires to know more…let me see thy countenance…let ME hear thy voice. Let me come to understand. Remember how old Israel had feared and said to Moses, let us not hear God’s voice again. They refused it. They did not wish to ever hear his voice again and God granted their request. They lost out with God. But now this bride desires to hear his voice or to understand his message. But then she doubts a bit and brings up that they have foxes who will spoil the vines. She is new to this and is still afraid. She is tender yet. See, the New Church was constantly being drawn back to law. They were afraid to drop it, at first. But she still claims he is my beloved and I am his. He feeds among the lilies. He will not feed among those thrones. If you wish to feast with him, you must come into grace or the lovely flowers. He will not sup with you if you cling to those thorns or law. She is now looking for the day star to arise in her heart and those old shadows of the OT to flee far from her. She is getting ready to make this move into the Holy Ghost new move of God.
Chapter three:
1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. 2 I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. 3 The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth? 4 It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me. 5 I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
This is wonderful. By night means still in that old law system, which is darkness or blindness of heart/mind. She is still at this time staying in that old law system, but is beginning to seek to know her beloved. She is seeking him but cannot find him, for she is seeking him by the works of that law. She rose and went about the streets of ‘their’ city of law, the broad ways which leads to destruction. She seeks him here, but she finds him not. He is not there.
Romans 9:30-33
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
She then went to the watchmen of that old covenant, the law, prophets and their rulers. She feels sure they must have him, after all they do rule over them. So she asks them how to find him whom her soul loves. But they could not help her.
Then she passed a little ways away from them, and she found him! As soon as she departed from the law system, she found her beloved. She held him and would not let him go until she brought him into her MOTHER’S HOUSE. She brought him into the chamber of HER that conceived her.
Who is this Mother? It is none other than Eve, the mother of all living. She was this original grace mother. Those children of Grace are her seed. She is the one who refused to dwell in that old law of death, and was persecuted for returning to God’s grace and bearing the true seed of God, his holy children. So now this bride has acknowledged that she has left law and came into grace and accepted the Holy Ghost. She was actually a true Seed of God all the time, born by her mother, Eve. It is the New Jerusalem, the City of Christ. So this bride holds onto her new faith until she is safe in his arms. Her own body is now this Mother carrying this Christ-child. She has brought him into her. She has been baptized into his body. They are now one. She is bearing twins…her old self born anew and his Christ inside her. Glory. It is that heavenly marriage!
We will see the two different ‘mothers’ all through this book. While God’s people dwell under that old law, their ‘mother’ is the flesh or that OT covenant. This ‘mother’ bore seven, which is those seven churches. When this bride comes into grace and the Holy Ghost, she is a new creature in Christ Jesus, and this new person has a different ‘mother’. This other Mother bore only ONE, and that one is the choice one, the bride of Christ. This One is borne from Eve, the Mother of all Living. It is the New Jerusalem, or City of God. It is the Tree of Life. This is the Seed of the Woman. It is the Faith seed of truth. Eve is shown in Scripture to be this Mother. Christ is HER SEED. We are baptized into this Christ, as we become one with this Seed of the Woman.
6 Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
7 Behold his bed, which is Solomon's; threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel. 8 They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night. 9 King Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon. 10 He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem. 11 Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
Rev 12..the woman who bore the Manchild fled into the wilderness. Here, away from all the clamor of that OT and the fake church system, she is nourished and fed the pure word of God, that she may grow thereby. At the end, she and her Christ are shown to be coming up out of that wilderness. These pillars of smoke show the two witnesses of Joel two and the NT pure Church, which is the Apostles and Church of their day, and the ones down at the end, who will be endured with power from on high with the Baptism of Fire for bringing the judgment of Christ against the naked false church. One of the signs of this baptism is these pillars of smoke. The sweet smelling spices shows the sweetness of the pure Word of God coming out of their mouths. It is also the gifts and fruit of the Spirit.
How could this verse and many like it in the Song of Solomon, ever fit the carnal interpretation that this book is glorifying marital sex, as I have heard many false teachers claim? It would have no connection with such things. So it is as I said, they just gloss over most of the words of Scripture and pick a few which their carnal minds can distort and teach their junk. Flee such carnal interpretations. God’s word is totally spiritual and must be spiritually discerned or understood.
Next we see that Jesus has come into his kingdom (bed), and is going forth with his mighty sword to bring forth the righteous judgment of this world. Those mighty men with the swords are these witnesses who bring the wrath of the Lamb on the world, according to Psalm 149. We are then at war with the sins and carnal teachings in the world. The truth, or this sword, will cut all of these lies out of the world and bring in peace and truth.
Remember that King Solomon here is really Jesus. It is not about the earthly man, Solomon. He is only being used here to show the truth of Jesus and his kingdom. Lebanon is the same in Scripture as that Garden of Eden, or glorification. So this ‘chariot’ of the wood of Lebanon actually means that Jesus is building up his kingdom of glorified Saints of God. It is his promise to us of the resurrection into his likeness and glory. That ‘chariot’ is being made right now. The silver and gold here shows the glory of God. Next this bride is shown the real glory of her Groom. What a glorious revelation!
Chapter four:
1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead. 2 Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them. 3 Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks. 4 Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men. 5 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. 6 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.
In verse one, notice that she is still at this time, showing signs of being caught by that law = the goats hair. But then in verse two that changes, as she is brought fully into the understanding of Grace, as was Peter when Paul rebuked him and opened his understanding more perfectly to this new Kingdom of Christ. Now her teeth ( or speech) is like a flock of SHEEP = Grace children. They have come up from the washing. Here is the perfect identification of this bride: Isa one: 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
The above is speaking about the NT plan of Salvation. Being washed means being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. So now this part of the account of this bride has moved down to the time she has obeyed this NT salvation. There was no being made clean or washed in that old covenant of the blood of animals. This could never take away sins. Verse 17 shows the NT way of love. Under this pure cleansing she is now bearing twins, or her own self coming into the image of Christ as we become ONE with him. After we are washed, we will not be barren, but will bear a son of God.
Notice verse 7, there is no spot in thee. He has now made her whole as she is without spot or wrinkle. This is the NT Christian, filled with the Holy Ghost and ready for her Lord. She now feeds among the Lilies, or the pure Word of God, until all the shadows of that old law fade from her life. These mighty men are those Apostles who feed this bride the pure word of God and bring her out of the polluted law and church system.
8 Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards. 9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck. 10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices! 11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon. 12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. 13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, 14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:
15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. 16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.
With this new Holy Ghost salvation, she is now speaking the honey, milk, and water of the word. Notice the progression of her development into a NT Christian. At first her lips are as a scarlet thread. Now scarlet, or red, in Scripture represents sin.
Then, in verse 11, her lips have become to drop as honey and milk. This shows her speaking the NT message of Grace.
Her smell is a sweet savor to God as she is glorified with his love. Notice she goes from being a fountain closed up, sealed, a garden inclosed. That was her state under that law, but now she becomes a fountain of gardens, a well of living waters. Jesus said the Spirit which he gives us will be a well of living water, springing up into everlasting life, which is the streams from Lebanon. Now she calls for him to come into his garden which he has planted and eat of the fruits we now produce with the Holy Ghost. She is now able to sup with him and He with her.
The Holy Ghost wind blows on our garden so it produces the spices, or fruit, which Jesus loves. Then he will sup with us and we with him.
Chapter five:
1 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? 4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him. 5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. 6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer. 7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me. 8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.
After Jesus assures us he has come into his garden, or his kingdom, and drunk his wine, milk, honey and all his spices, then the call goes out to us to come in and drink abundantly. He gives us life and that more abundantly.
Now in verse two it drops back to telling how this bride group is brought from the old law covenant into the new world. She was asleep in that law, but her heart was waking up to the truth of her beloved as he knocks at her hearts door. He calls to her to come and open up to him.
Then she puts up excuses. (I bought two yoke of oxen and must go prove them; or I married a wife; must go bury my father, etc.) She says I have already gone to bed, have taken my coat off, (what flimsily excuses people can find to put off coming to Jesus.) how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet, how shall I get them dirty getting up to let you in? Then Jesus makes one more move to her, he even put his hand into the hole of the door. This really touched her and her heart moved for him.
She then goes to the door and attempts to open it but her hands are slippery…still holding onto something she needs to let go of. She finally opens the door, but he has gone. She waited a bit too long and he goes out to seek others to come into the marriage.
After Jesus calls us and we make up excuses, he will leave us alone and call to others. We must then seek him. Seek him while he may be found. Seek and ye shall find. He is not standing around wringing his hands, begging sinners to repent and come to salvation, as some false teachers have tried to make folks think.
She now seeks him and cannot find him, for she is still seeking him by the works of the law. She calls him but he gives her no answer. This fits exactly what the OT Covenant is told that God will not hear them. If you compare this with the book of Lamentations, you will see the same things…as she first seeks to her lovers… but they deceive her. Those old priests and prophets deceived the people and God is not with them.
She then ran into some of those NT watchmen, Peter, Paul, James, John, us, and they wounded her and took away her veil. What is this? Glory! Read 11Cor 3. It tells how reading that OT blinds one. Even unto this day when Moses, (law), is read, the VEIL is upon their hearts. But when it turns to the Lord, the Veil shall be taken away.
This wounding is the same as happened to Judah or Jerusalem, in Lamentations. It is saying that the New Message of Grace wounds that old law-hold on people and brings them into the LIGHT. Now they are not blind, but the veil is taken away. Now she is ready to move on with her Lord. So these ‘city’ watchmen were the NT watchmen. They were the keepers of the New Jerusalem wall. They bring her to Christ whereas those old ‘city’ watchmen had sent her away empty.
But then she turns to the daughters of Jerusalem and asks them to help her and find her lover and tell him, I am sick of love. We must become this way, hungry to be filled with his righteousness, before we will find him. Those who teach you that all you have to do is just say, I believe, ask forgiveness of sin, and wham, you are saved and eternally bound for heaven, are your enemies and will damn your soul to destruction. See, this true bride had to become sick for his love before she finds him. She has to go out and seek for him. They that diligently seek him shall find him. Now she is beginning serious search for the Lord.
9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. 11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. 12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. 13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. 14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. 15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. 16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
Chapter six:
1 Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee.
After she tells those daughters, (others who need the Lord), that she is seeking him, they then ask her why he is so special that she has told them to help her find him. After she finishes describing his glory to them, they also want to go and find him. This is how we all should be, seeking more of Jesus and showing others how wonderful he is.
2 My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. 3 I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.
4 Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners. 5 Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead. 6 Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them. 7 As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks
Here, once again, we see Jesus confirming how beautiful his people are to him after they have come up from the WASHING. The teeth show what she is now speaking, = sheep food or the Word of God. Thus we will not be barren but bearing the Holy fruit of the Spirit. Paul confirmed in Acts 22 that the water baptism is where his sins were WASHED away. This is the only washing accepted in all of God’s holy Word. So when you read SOS, always keep in mind that it is weaving back and forth from the time she is first awakened a tiny bit to him, and her moving from that old law into his Grace. It is a journey which we all must make if we have eternal life.
8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number. 9 My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her. 10 Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?
There may be many who make some sort of start with God, but few who will make it to that perfect mark. This is the one who is being revealed in this SOS Book. She is the only one of her Mother. This Mother is Eve, the New Jerusalem, or pure Grace. It is the seed of the woman beginning with Eve. She is actually the one this book is about in that it is her seed which continues on down to the end and become this ONE, united and complete Bride of Christ. The people from Eve on down who picked up this righteous seed and carried it on down are this ONE. It is called the seed of Abraham and Isaac.
The Harlot, or law, bore seven. But this Grace mother bore only ONE. We are all ONE in Christ Jesus. So this is all those who are baptized into Christ. Anyone who clings to any part of law will fail to become part of this choice ONE.
Notice also that as this ‘bride-one’ progresses down toward her perfection, she goes through ‘stages’ of growth. First, she looked forth as the morning. This is her beginning as she starts being and seeing the true Light of God and the Day Star begins to rise in her heart. Next, she is seen under that law, the ‘moon’. Then she sees the truth of Grace, Faith apart from the works of the law and is now shining forth as the noon-day sun. Next she is seen as the mighty warrior of God, as she goes forth in the end-time judgment ministry of bringing the wrath of the Lamb upon the sinners of this world. This is the great army described in Joel two with her banners of God.
11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished, and the pomegranates budded. 12 Or ever I was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib. 13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies.
What does this Shulamite refer to? Strongs gives the meaning of the perfect or peaceful one. It shows a perfect covenant of peace. So then, it is a cry to Jesus to return and let us see his glory. He is this mighty ‘lover’ of our souls described in Song of Solomon. It is totally spiritual and beautiful. How shameful that carnal minded teachers of carnal things have taken this glorious spiritual Book and taught trashy carnal things from it! So, what is seen in the Shulamite? Those two great witnesses, the perfect Church of the Lord Jesus, headed up the first time under Peter and Paul and now in the end time to become the mighty army which brings peace to this earth by doing away with the sinners off this earth.
That will be the finished product of the finished work of Jesus at Calvary.
Chapter seven:
1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. 2 Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies. 3 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins. 4 Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus. 5 Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries. 6 How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!
Verse one is absolutely beautiful. Remember how she said, while still under that law and he wanted her to open to him, that she had her shoes off and could not go to the door? Those under that law do not have on the beautiful garments of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Eph. 6: 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
See, the shoes of the NT ministers, (in our beautiful garments), is the preparation of the gospel of peace. So now, this bride has put on these gospel ‘shoes’. She is ready to take the truth to this world.
And confirming this with the Prophets: Isa 52:7 -
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
See how the feet are again called beautiful here, to those who publish this gospel of peace and salvation. It is the beautiful garments which God said he would beautify his people with. It has not one thing to do with natural cloths as neither did the coats of skins which God put on Adam and Eve. People are just too carnal minded to get any truth from God’s Holy word.
This verse, as with the entire Book, is describing the New Jerusalem, the City of the Living God. It is not a natural woman, as everyone supposes. God said those who think on his name and speak often to one another of Him will be his when he makes up his JEWELS. See Paul also mentions these beautiful jewels and Peter said we are lively STONES in the Holy City. Paul called himself a wise master builder. So it is this kind of workman which has put this beautiful ‘woman’ or kingdom of Christ together.
Pro 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Read this chapter how this great woman does so many wonderful things. She excels them all. It is not speaking about any one certain woman. It is speaking of the kingdom of Christ, the City of God, as one unit. We are all one in Christ. It is not of an individual. We all must be One in order to be this one woman who excels them all. It is the collective spiritual work of an entire Body of Christ, each one of us members in particular.
This one Body or City is the beautiful Bride being described in Song of Solomon and all Scripture. It is the true Church of the Living God. The harlot woman in Scripture is the false church. It is just that simple. Why let a carnal mind make havoc of these beautiful Scriptures? The rest of these verses is of the same spiritual quality. It is a beautiful description of the true Church of God. The wheat is the children of the kingdom, as Jesus told us. The ‘liquor’ is the same in types as the wine. It is the joyful stimulation of the Holy Ghost.
The two breasts speaks of the milk which the babes in Christ drink from the Holy word. This true people of God give out this milk. It was from those two witnesses. They feed the ‘woman’ in the wilderness. The neck being a tower shows this kingdom to be a place of safety far above the reach of Satan and his wicked ones.
5 Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries. 6 How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights! 7 This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes. 8 I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; 9 And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.
God said the prayer of the saints is his delight. So this is a joyful union between the people of God and our God. He blesses us and we in turn praise, worship and adore him. The vine is Jesus so we are drinking from this precious vine. He is the apple tree so we eat of his fruit, the fruit of the Spirit.
Verse nine is especially precious to me. Years ago God revealed this to me. It is showing the resurrection of those who sleep in Jesus. His sweet voice will call them forth and they shall live and speak. Glory to our God.
10 I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. 11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. 12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves. 13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
It is easy to see the spiritual meaning of the above verses, so I will only say that the fruits new and old come both from the Old Testament Scriptures and the New. We do receive glorious revelation or food from both these marvelous works of God.
Chapter eight:
1 O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. 2 I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. 3 His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me. 4 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please.
The above verses show that we are both brother, sister, mother and friend to our Jesus. He is our brother and comes from the same spiritual ‘Mother’, Eve. He is her seed. He is the Christ which began in Eve. Since we are of the same holy ‘Mother’ there is no shame in our being together. She instructs us all in the way of holy Love.
For those who will doubt this, read: 1 Timothy 2:9-15
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
In the above verses it is teaching women, (the church) how to dress themselves in righteousness and holiness. (It is easy to see here, comparing this with the language in SOS, that the carnal mind cannot possibly understand the truth of any Scripture. So the carnal mind reads the above as if it is speaking about a natural man and woman. Thus they make total havoc of this as they do all Scripture. It has brought about a sterile, dead church because it forbids a large segment of this ‘woman’, church, to speak the words of God. )
It uses the terms of a natural women to show the spiritual, for the Church is always called female. Men have long misused the above verses to try and bind down the daughters of God, but this is Satanic interpretation. The woman is the Church and she must be in subjection to Christ, our husband. We must learn at his feet and not attempt to teach Jesus or God. But to say that women Christians cannot teach the word of God the same as the men is to totally slaughter and tear down the oneness of this Church as this one excellent WOMAN, who is the bride of Christ.
If you hold to that false interpretation, then you are saying that the sons of God are NOT in this true Church or bride. You have thus ruptured this church and taken out the male members. You also are guilty of silencing this Church so she cannot teach the world the words of God. It is a horrible destruction to the work of Christ and his Church.
Jesus was never deceived but we were at some time. So we must all listen to him. It is not saying that women Christians cannot teach. It is speaking of Christ and the church, as Paul made very clear.
But watch verse 15... SHE shall be saved in childbearing, which means bearing that Christ Child inside ourselves to be a son of God. But then it said if THEY, (all true Christians, including the females), CONTINUE, (means keep doing as Eve did) in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Now it is clear, (if you can read this with a spiritual understanding, instead of carnality), that it is saying we must all follow the pattern of our Holy Mother, EVE. So those of us who follow her Holy example are this bride of Christ who has the breasts which can feed the babes in Christ the milk of the word so they may grow thereby.
5 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee. 6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. 7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
The one who comes up from the wilderness, leaning upon our beloved Jesus, is this pure Bride. That seal is receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, as we are sealed with the Holy Ghost.
Our Mother, Eve, raised us up under the Apple Tree, which is Jesus or Grace-truth. She started this holy seed and it comes all the way down from her into Jesus and then into us. That Scripture in 1Tim 2 proves this, as she is set forth as the perfect pattern to follow in order to be saved.
Watch how this reveals here that her serpent husband was jealous and was cruel as the grave, for his sin brought us all into sin and DEATH, (by one man sin entered the world, and death by sin.) But he could not quench the love of God out of Eve, not matter how much he persecuted her and Abel. They stayed true to God, becoming the perfect example to everyone afterwards, to follow and become Holy and Righteous.
He sent out floods of false words to cause HER to be carried away with those floods, but She and Abel stayed true to God and all her seed thereafter. What would you give in exchange for your soul? Everything is contemned, (hated) compared to eternal life.
8 We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for? 9 If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar.
The little sister is those who are new in the Lord, not grown up yet. How shall we bring her into this great City? We will build her up in Christ as we build the spiritual walls of New Jerusalem. The boards of cedar show glorification.
10 I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.
Here the bride speaks revealing that she is now mature in Christ and well able to care for the babes in Christ. If you love me, FEED my Lambs. Now he is pleased with her.
11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.
Jesus left his vineyard to keepers. But most of them began to beat the servants and do wrong. Those who keep the vineyard will inherit the kingdom and save their own souls. If we are to receive the fruit of this vineyard, we must bring a thousand pieces of silver.
Thousand, means teaching truth. A teaching family. Look it up in strongs. Silver shows one of the greatest metals which makes up this holy City. It is God’s truth.
12 My vineyard, which is mine, is before me: thou, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
Here the bride is finally keeping her own vineyard as she has left law and come into grace. She is now one with her beloved.
13 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it. 14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
Here she shows that he dwells in his gardens. He planted a garden. Every PLANT which my heavenly father hath not planted will be rooted up. We are his plants in his garden and he dwells in us. Here she asks to hear his voice. Remember old Israel requested that they not hear it again? Well that old law system cannot hear his words. They are blinded by that old covenant. Even today when Moses is read, the veil, or blindness is upon their hearts or minds. But this true Bride, which heard his call and came out into his truth, love and hear his voice. We are his and he is ours.
By: Jo Smith ~~~October, 2009
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Eph. 6: 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
