Isaiah 9King James Version (KJV)
9 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
The great light was Jesus and his teachings. It was harvest time.
This is a time of gathering in the fruits of the summer garden. So after the preaching of the apostles, then came this great harvest, as they converted the world to Jesus.
These converts rejoiced with joy unspeakable and full of glory. These apostles were at war with that old covenant. They actually brought about that fall of the OT; I wrote about this many years ago; greatest message ever given to anyone.
but watch this: (was so funny to me when I first saw what this is actually saying; very few people have ever seen the Word of God the way it really is. so they miss all the glory)
V4. the yoke of law, or satan was broken off their shoulder; the rod of the oppressor, or law/satan. (they found freedom in Grace).
v5... every battle of the WARRIOR is with CONFUSED NOISE.
Who were the warriors? the Acts Church. What is that CONFUSED NOISE?
Well, try 1Cor 14. Try Acts 2. Acts 10... didn't the critics say, and still say, that speaking in tongues is nothing BUT CONFUSION? Just a noise?
And so it is. But, it won those battles to bring down Moab; Ammon; Edom; Philistia: etc. They brought these peoples to CHRISTIANITY. They won the battle. All these new converts spoke in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Then they began going to war to bring in more converts...to enjoy this CONFUSED NOISE.
v5...and garments rolled in BLOOD? goodness.
They sing about it all the time, (but cannot take that understanding to scripture)...'are your garments spotless; are they washed in the BLOOD?'
So, yes, their garments were 'rolled in blood'. Then, the burning and fuel of fire?
Just study the burring of Gog. Come to Jesus and burn away your sins.
