1sa 25:7 And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel.
1sa 25:8 Ask thy young men, and they will show thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.
1sa 25:9 And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased.
1sa 25:10 And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master.
1sa 25:11 Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be?
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Is Nabal saying he had killed his own body and gave it unto his men to eat? It said (verse 11) ..shall I take my FLESH which I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto David's men?
So, what does this word, FLESH, mean here? Does it mean his human body?
Is not this the very same kind of FLESH mentioned in John 1:14?
Judge righteous judgment.
But now, according to many, perhaps this is not even part of the true Scriptrues? Who knows? We perhaps need to seek out some of the brillent folks who 'claim' to know everything about the 'original' language, and find out if these verse are really in the true original book.
Who knows? Perhaps David and Nabal never even lived. Perhaps this is just added stuff. maybe it is mistranslated? I am quite sure, according to many folks today, we cannot take this at 'face' value and just out and out believe it?
Notice also, the men spoke to Nabal IN THE NAME OF DAVID.
Now we know this is one of the main tripping-up places for the 'jesus-only ' folks. When Jesus said, I come in the NAME OF MY FATHER, they claim this means Jesus was saying I am the father, Jesus is the name of the father.
So by the same reasoning, we must now presume that all the young men, who spoke to Nabal, were really David??/ See how foolish their childish understanding gets?
