Walking the valley of Baca and the road to Emmaus
Psalm 84King James Version (KJV)
84 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
Passing through the Valley of Baca….what is that? Baca means weeping. Those who pass through this ‘valley’ of Baca..make it a well or pools of rain…..they are weeping MUCH OVER THEIR sins. They are in great Godly sorrow for their sins. Godly sorrow leads thee to repentance.
Without sincere repentance, and this means much more that just repeating after someone, I believe that Jesus is the son of God,,,forgive my sins. THAT IS NOT SALVATION…and it is not passing through the valley of Baca.
Unless, and until you are sorry enough about your present standing with God, your sins, that you weep enough to seemingly fill a well or some pools, you are not even heading toward salvation. This ‘repeat’ after me salvation is deceiving millions and cheating them of salvation……this is why those fake ministers are theives….of the worst sort…..they steal your chances of salvation, or eternal life.
Look back up at verse two: 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
This person’s SOUL is LONGING even fainting TO FIND THE LORD. His heart and flesh is crying out for the living God….you do not see that is these lukewarm, dead churches of our day. There is no seeking for God..in fact they teach against it. But God said he is a rewarder of those who diligently SEEK the Lord. Jesus said, SEEK and ye shall find……cry out…weep…those who go forth WEEPING shall come again bearing precious fruit.
But these dead preachers and churches cheat you of that. They say, oh no..no need to go through any valley of Baca…..no weeping….no true repentance. It is not needed. Just say you believe and ask forgiveness. But it is not taught in Scripture.
Godly SORROW leads you to repentance. Repentance means you are so sorry for your sins, you weep and moan and cry out to God to deliver you. Now that is going through the valley of Baca. Until you reach this point, God is not even going to pay you any attention. You will never know God or Jesus Christ.
If you have never been broken enough over your sins and you desire to find God, to weep a well or a pool of tears, you are not ready for salvation or to meet God. Those who WEEP their way to God, passing through this valley of Baca, go from strength to strength. Keep it up. Keep up that repentance and weeping till God comes and fills you with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Walk up that road toward Emmaus.
Luke 24: 13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
As these disciples were walking the road toward Emmaus, Jesus joined himself to them and talked with them. They did not know him, but he asked them why they are so sad. They spoke of the crucifixion.
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Jesus then expounded the Scriptures to them and revealed the truth about himself, from those Scriptures.
When He broke and blessed the bread their eyes were opened and they KNEW HIM.
See, they were sad over losing Jesus to death. But when he rose from the dead, he met them on that road to Emmaus. They were so sad and then Jesus opened the Scriptures up to them. They had gone through that valley of Baca; weeping and moaning a river of tears, over loosing their saviour.
Now they are reaping in joy. Their tears are turned to Joy as He revealed himself to them.
People, until you go through that valley of death…that valley of tears….that Godly sorrow for your sins…weeping and crying out to God to come and deliver you…reveal himself to you….YOU ARE YET LOST IN YOUR SINS AND NOT READY TO FIND SALVATION.
If you never get free of that thief you are paying to lie to you, you will stay right there…too proud to cry and weep before God and to Seek him till you find him, You are a child of satan and refuse to humble yourself before the Almighty God and it will cost you eternal life…burning in hell fire.
Why oh why, do you refuse the truth? why not humble yourself, cry over your sins…weep your way to victory in Christ Jesus.
