When two hearts meet ~~~~. By: Jo Smith ~~~~~ December 18, 2020
I long to see you walk through the door;
I long to hear your voice once more.
I long to walk with you down a path
And hear you once more laugh.
When two hearts meet
And you know love is at your feet
It is best to take things slow
And allow a great friendship to grow.
You need someone who will stay by your side
They will drop all pride and with you abide.
When you are old and sick
They will be there through thin or thick.
If you follow that loved one to the grave
Their face you will always crave
To see and to hear that voice one more time.
But you remember your love was so sublime.
You walked together through joy and pain
Your friendship and love was always the main
Thing that held you through it all
Now you must hope to not fall.
When you looked into each other’s eyes
There was the lifting up of a big surprise
You know that together you will rise
And go to receive your eternal prize.
Now you must walk all alone
Knowing she was flesh of your flesh and bone of your bone.
You will rise together to God’s throne
And forever enjoy the love that was sown.
You had a love that nothing can erase
You know you will meet again in a better place.
This time you will sail the moon and stars
From yesterday’s pain there will be no more scars.
For now I hold your picture
And am thankful for the Holy Scripture.
If I could only break through the veil and come to your side
I would be content to there forever abide.
Your laughter filled my days with glee.
Now I just sit and long to see thee.
Will it always be this way?
Will there come a better day?
You are in my heart day and night
Until the time comes that I also can take my flight.
The longing to come and be with you
Is the power that gets me through.
For now I will enjoy what God gives to me each day.
I will try to do things his way
My joy and hope is for that great tomorrow
When there will be no more sorrow.
We will walk together again, hand in hand
In that glorious eternal land.
Till then, my Love, you are forever my turtle dove.
I will see you again in that land above.
Amen!
I long to see you walk through the door;
