The Elusive Tomorrow By: Jo Smith Dec 4, 2022 A little girl packed a lunch and set out on a hunch. She told her Mother, I am going to search for Tomorrow. Mother said you can never find Tomorrow To search for it will only bring you sorrow. You must learn to enjoy today Because Tomorrow will never come your way. But the little Girl felt so sure That she refused to hear Her Mother’s advice. I know I will find paradise. After a good day’s journey, it began to become dark. She lay down to sleep in a little park. She excitedly said I will be there soon. It always appears after the moon. After a few hours of sleep, she woke up to take a peek. Now I will see the Tomorrow that I seek. But alas, No! It was still TODAY. No, no. There is no way! After all my journeying I am still in Today? She thought I must have taken the wrong road. Soon she met a little toad. Do you know the way to tomorrow, she asked the toad. Sure, hop onto my back and I will have you there in no time. Now if you don’t believe this, try to make a rhyme. But the little girl was too heavy a load for the toad. So he dumped her onto a grey rabbit. He began to hop and hop as was his habit. Little Pearl was thrown off into a whirl. An old man came by and saw Pearl. She was still in a dizzy whirl. She asked, Is it tomorrow? Have I reached it yet? No, my little pet. Not yet. Be content with today. Go out and play. Make the best of today and You will soon see You will dance with glee and be free!
