Little Light from Heaven
Rachel
You were a glorious light sent to me from Above.
God was revealing to me His wonderful love
When He shed your light into my life.
Your beautiful smile ended all strife.
Your laughter was like a sparkling bubbling brook.
God said, she is not here to stay; just take a look.
She is the finest gold in my treasure
So I sent her to you for your pleasure.
Everything was much more fun
When with Rachel I did run.
Her excitement made everything glow and shine.
She was the joy of this life of mine.
Never was a sweeter child born.
But from me she was all too soon torn.
God said, She was not yours to keep
I was only showing you the finest of my sheep.
The Fire of God will try us all.
We will either stand true to Him or fall.
He gave me a glorious prize for a short eight years.
The He took her back through millions of tears.
God said now will you continue to love me
Or will you allow your grief to detour thee?
You must love Me above all others and never stop.
Else you will fall by the wayside and flop.
I sent you a bit of Heaven to enjoy for a time.
But Rachel was always mine.
Rachel loved you more than anything except me.
Rachel loved God above all else even as a wee
Child.
The LORD giveth and the LORD taketh.
Blessed be the NAME OF THE LORD.
To me this was not hard.
It was not the first time
There had been two others before Rachel, that was sent from above only to be taken right back.
My love for God was not diminished by all of this.
I endured the Fire of God.
Rachel has been gone to be with God for 40 years. Forty is a special number in Scripture. It shows a great change or judgment.
It has taken me all of these years to be able to write a poem for my Rachel. I wrote poems for all of my other children years ago, but for Rachel, I could not find the words.
I could not find the inspiration.
But this morning I read in my memories that I had not been able to write a poem for Rachel.
As I fixed my breakfast, this came to me clear as day and I knew what to write about my Rachel.
God gave and God took.
Blessed be the Name of my God.
Jesus I love you. Rachel loved you. Rhonda loved you. Eric, my Eric, and my Chris never had the chance, but I know you sent them also and they are with you now waiting for me to arrive.
