It is finished
The fans are all still
The air conditioner has no will
To crank up and run.
The summer’s work is done.
Now we can rest and still
Not scare the electric bill.
But don’t get too excited
For you will soon be frighted
When that heater begins to have its day.
And that is not too far away.
We sing for joy for the few days
When the weather lets us laze.
Just run and be free
Don’t fall and skin your knee.
Sometimes just lay and look up at the cloud.
But don’t become too proud.
That cold winter wind
Will put you into a spin.
We will again yearn
For that summer tern.
